SEO Strategy Monitoring

It's important to monitor your SEO strategy in order for it to be successful. Search Engine Optimization is a complex process that needs constant overseeing and tweaking in order to be successful for your company.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

SEO involves maximizing your website so that you can be ranked high in search engines. Although social media and video sharing sites are gaining in popularity tremendously, search engines remain the main tools people use on the internet. As time goes on and the accuracy of search engines increases – with things like Google's suggested search feature to help you refine your keywords and come up with the most precise information possible – people are rarely venturing to the second page of a search results page. So, if your business doesn't appear on that first page, you're not going to get many visitors, which means you're not going to get the traffic you need, and you're not going to get conversions that will help increase your business's productivity.

SEO is very complex and time consuming. It has multiple aspects that must all be executed properly to be successful. It also requires constant monitoring in order to ensure that everything is responding according to what you anticipated. It can even take up to a year for proper execution, which is why you have to stay on top of it, run tests, collect data and constantly make changes to achieve greatness using SEO.

Basic Principles

There are four basic principles that are necessary to have a successful SEO strategy. All of them must be practiced regularly throughout your campaign.

1. Keyword research is really where the SEO process should start. It will help you to understand what your specific clientele is searching for so that you can infiltrate your site and its content with those terms. That way you'll be ranked higher in a search index – which is the whole point of SEO.

2. Onsite Optimization requires you to fully optimize your site so that it's as appealing as possible for Google's algorithms (which rank your business). Things like breadcrumbs; internal links; relevant, basic and attractive landing pages; a static URL; informative content; htaccess settings; 301 redirects and meta information are all crucial to optimizing your site.

3. Offsite Optimization is basically finding ways outside of your site to help it rank. Things like social media, building backlinks, social bookmarking, blogging and manual link building will help increase your offsite optimization.

4. Conversion optimization involves getting the most out of your data. Conversions can be just about anything for your company, whether it is turning a visitor into a sale, getting them to sign up for a email newsletter, generating a lead through your site, or just getting users to stay on your website for more than five minutes, conversions are vital to the success of your business. That means you'll need to analyze the information you're getting from your SEO strategy and make changes based on that data to fully optimize your conversions.
