Ericsson's CEO made a remarkable demonstration at a press conference at CES in Las Vegas on January 11, 2012. His body was used as a driver to transfer a picture from a smartphone in one hand to a TV in another hand without cables or radio signal of any kind.
Called Capacitive Coupling, this technology is about using the human body to transit data. It uses low electric current existing at the surface of the skin of each individual. "Ultimately, we are the network," said the CEO of Ericsson, describing the research project.
This demonstration opens up many opportunities to exchange as a contact phone number or a photo with a simple handshake. For now, this technology is still in the laboratory. Hoping it will come out soon...
